Portraits In The Water
If you live in Asheville and have never been to the Flea For Y'all, you should definitely go. In June, I found this white vintage dress for $10 there! But I loved it too much and could not make up my mind about what kind of shoot to do with it. So...I asked everyone on my Facebook page to vote. There were lots of votes, but the winner was C, the water.
I wanted to work with a model who I knew could brave a shoot in water, and it was a no-brainer to choose Belle Crouse. I've worked with her before, and she does an amazing job every time and is so fun to work with!
Erika Stuttz of Makeup by Ali Lawless did the makeup for the shoot, and it turned out beautiful! She is crazy talented! It looked perfect when we started, and even after Belle dipped in the water, the makeup stayed perfect.
I wish I had taken a behind-the-scenes photo of this shoot. Belle is laying (fiercely) in the cold water, her mom is throwing flower petals back around her as they float downstream, and I'm soaking wet and standing on a stepladder in the middle of the water. It takes a lot of unglamorous work to make something look glamorous. But it was still a lot of fun. I've been wanting to do portraits in the water for a while now, and I'm so happy with what our team created!
