When I do boudoir shoots, my clients are putting a lot of trust in me. It's easy for me to encourage women to be vulnerable and free from my side of the camera. But I also want them to know that I practice what I preach and lead by example. So I stepped to the other side of the camera to practice this vulnerability and freedom for myself.
If you're like me, you probably have a voice in your head that says a lot of negative things to keep you from loving yourself. Today mine told me that I should lose weight, that the wig looks ridiculous, that I make weird faces on camera, that everyone will think these are hideous, and that seeing photos of my body will make me hate it more.
But I told that voice to shut up, put that crazy wig on, and did the shoot anyways. And you know what? That voice was wrong. I love these photos, and they make me love myself more, not less.
