Cara May Knits

I love photographing artists at work. It's like watching an episode of How It's Made, but in person. Seeing Cara May make her knitted clothing was so fun! And she was nice enough to answer all my questions about the process! I've photographed her finished products before (which you should definitely go see on her website, www.caramayknits.com). I'm in love with the detail and texture of them.

We did this shoot at Cara's studio at Riverview Station which is in Asheville's River Arts District. Her space was simple but made beautiful by all of her tools and products. She wants to focus on the handmade quality of her work on her website and social media and also for some exciting online features she has been offered. So I made that the focus of the photos and created images of her tools and her hands at work.
